How do we incorporate VisionWeb3D technology on our site?

From an initial telephone consultation, we will suggest the best format for presenting your products online in 3D. Then, from a combination of photos, blueprints, CAD models, or artists pre-production sketches, we will construct a computer model of your products. Interactivity code is added to incorporate all the functionality/options of each product. If required, email code can be added. The data is uploaded to a separate directory on your server, tested, then simply awaits links from other pages of your site to your new 3D presentation.

How will our products look in 3D?

We go to great lengths to ensure that the 3D representation of your product is true to life. There are no jagged lines too often seen in 3D artwork. Special attention is paid to ensure that your branding and the most desirable qualities of your product are given special treatment.

Qualities such as color, transparency, shininess, texture, roughness and refraction can all be realistically modeled. If you later decide to introduce additional colors to your range, you can simply type in an extra line of text to update the model.

Will it slow the loading time of our site?

VisionWeb3D technology has been specially enhanced to minimize load times. Whilst viewing one presentation, others are being pre-cached allow instant loading when the user requests it. With careful planning, loading times are totally hidden from the user - they will see barely a flash of a loading bar before the 3D image is presented.

Will it work on all browsers,operating systems and behind firewalls?

Yes! This is one of the key advantages of VisionWeb3D over competitor products. Built on long established Java technology, VisionWeb3D requires no extra plug ins. The required Java 1.1 is supported by all browsers, (IE, Netscape, Opera, etc), on all operating systems ( Windows, Mac, Linux, etc). Java is already installed on the vast majority of current desktops, and is utilized by thousands of web sites. VisionWeb3D is 100% Java 1.1 compatible, utilizing later java versions it found. Likewise, firewalls are not a problem as VisionWeb3D uses standard http protocols.

Other 3D web technologies often suffer from requiring installation of ActiveX plug ins (often blocked by your customer's corporate IT departments), restarting of browsers (will your customers find your site again?), redirection to the 3D provider's web site, restrictions on browser usage, and off putting security popup windows. VisionWeb3D technology is free from these drawbacks.

Will it work with our server and technology?

Yes, very transparently. VisionWeb3D requires no server side components. Pages can be written in static HTML, or served dynamically from your current page serving technology.

Is Java fast enough for this?

VisionWeb3D is fast enough to present smooth fluid movement in the given window sizes. 24 frames per second (the same speed as film is shown in movie theatres), is readily attainable on modern hardware. The size of the image is automatically reduced on slower hardware, so that a smooth display is maintained . Just as importantly, the image will be visually identical across all your customers desktops - our competitors utilizing 3D hardware cannot make this claim.
